Future updates, at a safe distance
The intention is to share the journey without sharing my exact whereabouts. These are future requirements, not safeguards already running on this preview.
Delayed and approved. Future GPS-derived updates must be explicitly approved and held back before a broad public area and publication timestamp are released.
Broad areas, not exact points. Future breadcrumbs must describe coarsened areas only — never a precise live GPS point, exact route or campsite.
Pause or hide. Future controls must stop publication, suppress sensitive areas and hide existing updates or breadcrumbs when required.
Clear timestamps and signal status. An update will need its publication time; any offline report needs its own timestamp. Silence must not be treated as an emergency or guessed location.
Secure service required before tracking goes live. Approval, delay, coarsening and pause/hide settings must be enforced on the server before any public information is returned. Blurring or hiding precise data on this page would not protect it. That service is not connected, and these safety controls are not active.
